Nathan

San Francisco Conservatory of Music

Nathan studied at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. There he worked closely with one of the greatest guitarists and teachers of all time, David Tanenbaum, who provided Nathan with insights into the guitar’s inner workings and the best ways of teaching those to others. He graduated from the Conservatory with both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in guitar performance.

A word from Nathan:

“I started Lone Star Guitar Academy to create students who love to listen to, play, and perform music. Creating a love of music in every student is why I teach. I love seeing kids learn a song they love and have their first “aha” moment on the guitar. Getting people better on the instrument and seeing where it takes them is why I teach. Can’t wait to start you on your musical journey!”

Alastair

Berklee College of Music

Alastair Greene’s musical journey began with his mother’s piano playing and his father’s love of classical music. This, combined with the music of The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, and Elton John has helped make him become the musician he is today. Alastair earned a scholarship to Berklee College of Music and began teaching guitar in 1993.

Now, based in Austin, when Alastair is not teaching, he tours around the globe which has included stints playing with Alan Parsons Live Project and opening with his own band for George Thorogood.

A word from Alastair:

“I have been very fortunate to have some incredible teachers and mentors over the course of my career. I am grateful for the opportunities I’ve had as an instructor. I want to pass on what I’ve learned about playing the guitar and mentor other musicians on how to navigate the business of playing music for a living. I cherish what I call ‘light bulb moments’ when I see students growing as guitar players and musicians."
